Kit Harington would love to join the Harry Potter remake show

With the new Harry Potter series on HBO generating a lot of buzz, Kit Harington recently shared his enthusiasm about potentially being involved. In an interview with Variety, he said he’d happily take any role, even a small one, just to be a part of the show.

Although Kit Harington isn’t appearing in the new show, he’s currently narrating the Harry Potter audiobooks for Audible, starting with The Sorcerer’s Stone which came out last month. He officially joins the world of Harry Potter by voicing the character Gilderoy Lockhart in The Chamber of Secrets.

I absolutely loved the Harry Potter books growing up – I was a total nerd for them! I actually started reading them when I was about Harry’s age, and I still remember how much they meant to me. Later on, I got really into Stephen Fry’s audiobooks and re-listened to the whole series. Honestly, I know those books inside and out!

Kit Harington didn’t hesitate to accept the role of Gilderoy Lockhart, previously portrayed by Kenneth Branagh in the Harry Potter films. “When they offered me the part of Lockhart, I immediately said yes,” Harington explained. He found the character “enjoyable and lighthearted,” describing Lockhart as both tragic and funny – a flawed individual many creative people can identify with.

I’m so excited about the new Audible project! They’ve really pulled out all the stops with the cast. Keira Knightley is playing Dolores Umbridge, which is brilliant, and James McAvoy is Mad-Eye Moody – I can already hear his intensity! Matthew Macfadyen is Voldemort, and Riz Ahmed is Professor Snape, both perfect choices. Plus, it’s fun to see some familiar faces from Game of Thrones involved – Mark Addy as Hagrid, Gemma Whelan as Professor Sprout, and even Iwan Rheon as Professor Lupin. The whole cast is amazing!
