A trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man 4 unexpectedly appeared online before Sony had a chance to officially release it. The movie, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is one of two big Marvel Cinematic Universe films scheduled for theatrical release in 2026 – the other being Avengers: Doomsday. Although Avengers is currently dominating the conversation with its own trailer expected soon, Spider-Man is also generating a lot of excitement.
A trailer for the latest film from Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, appears to have been accidentally released online. Although some doubted the clip was real, Sony’s response suggests it might be authentic.
Following leaks of the supposed Spider-Man trailer, the studio has started sending takedown requests to platforms like X and Reddit. Many users reported their accounts were temporarily locked after sharing the trailer, with Sony Pictures identified as the source of the requests.

This news follows the online leak of the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, and Marvel Studios is taking similar steps to remove it from the internet. However, unlike with Spider-Man 4, there’s been no indication that a preview hinting at a ‘Brand New Day’ storyline was about to be released.
Sony Pictures UK posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) about Tom Holland as Spider-Man, saying “all we want for Christmas is [Tom Holland].” Fans wondered if this meant a trailer for the upcoming Brand New Day was on its way, but Sony hasn’t officially confirmed anything.
The movie Anaconda, distributed by Sony, will be released in theaters on December 25th. This means we might see the complete version of the Spider-Man trailer that was recently previewed alongside it.
The latest Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. This film will be Tom Holland’s first as Spider-Man without director John Watts, signaling a fresh start for the character after his high school years. Brand New Day promises a realistic take on the classic hero, showing him navigating the challenges of being a young adult – like paying bills – while also protecting the city as Spider-Man.
