McDonald’s is adding more chicken options to its menu. They’re currently trying out new sandwiches, strips, wings, and dipping sauces at some restaurants in the US.
Snackolator, a food news blog, first noticed that McDonald’s is testing new menu items at a few restaurants around Chicago. McDonald’s hasn’t said if these items will be available nationwide yet.
McDonald’s testing new chicken menu items
McDonald’s is trying out three new chicken sandwiches. One is a McSpicy Chicken Sandwich with a spicy chicken filet – a step up from the current Spicy McCrispy which just has spicy sauce. They’re also testing a Deluxe Grilled Chicken Sandwich and a BBQ Bacon Grilled Chicken Sandwich.
I’m so excited about the new menu! They’re adding six different kinds of McCrispy Strips, and they come in two styles – glazed and seasoned. If you like things a little sweet, you can get the glazed strips in Sweet Chili, Teriyaki, or Kickin’ BBQ. But if you want something with a bit more kick, the seasoned strips come in Spicy Garlic, Sweet Asian, and Garlic Parm. Seriously, I can’t wait to try them all!

McDonald’s is now trying out McSpicy Bone-In Wings, along with their popular sandwiches and chicken strips. These wings are seasoned with the same spicy flavor as the McSpicy Chicken Sandwich. They’re also testing Big Mac sauce dipping cups, which seem to be available only through the McDonald’s app, according to Snackolator.
This announcement follows McDonald’s recent release of a holiday meal inspired by The Grinch, which also marked the first time McShaker fries were available in the US, and included a special pair of socks.
