So, I was really surprised to hear from Luke Nichols of Outdoor Boys! Even though he posted what he called his ‘final’ videos a few weeks ago, he just let us know he actually still has some projects he wants to complete. It’s cool to hear he’s not totally done creating, even if he’s taking a step back from regular uploads!
Luke Nichols, who runs the popular YouTube channel Outdoor Boys, announced in May that he plans to stop making videos before 2026. He explained that he wants to focus on giving his family a more typical, private life, which he feels is difficult to achieve while maintaining a YouTube channel.
He admitted that the constant attention from fans – requests for photos and casual conversations in public – could be a lot to handle. He and his wife are also worried about how his rapidly growing YouTube channel might affect their family life.
By November, Nichols said he still needed to post three more videos to his Outdoor Boys channel, but he remained happy with his decision to retire.

Outdoor Boys might return to YouTube in 2026
Although he’s stepping back for now, he hinted at potentially returning later, ending a recent video by saying he might post again sometime. He admits that was a bit misleading, but he still has some projects he wants to finish.
Nichols mentioned he might be able to address the issue later, as he’s currently working on projects for his self-sufficient property. He also acknowledged an error from his previous video on the MyLifeOutdoors channel.
To be honest, I haven’t even begun thinking about making a new one yet, so it’s not happening anytime soon. I’m hoping to have it finished by the end of 2026, but who knows? I’m pretty content with where things are right now, so there’s no rush.

The YouTube creator recently stepped in to help his friend Steven from MyLifeOutdoors while Steven focuses on a family health matter.
Following his time on YouTube, Nichols has joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Young Men General Advisory Council, beginning his work on December 1st.
