The future of the Tomb Raider series was unveiled at The Game Awards with the announcement of two new games and a new actress, Alix Wilton Regan, who will be taking on the role of Lara Croft. Camilla Luddington, who previously voiced Lara in the recent Tomb Raider games (starting with the 2013 reboot), has now shared a farewell message and expressed her support for the new actor.
Camilla Luddington shared a message on Instagram, thanking fans of Tomb Raider and wishing Alan Wilton all the best.
It was such an honor to play Lara Croft, joining the amazing women who’ve done it before me. She’ll always be a part of who I am. Those three ‘Survivor’ games took up a whole decade of my life, and honestly, it was an adventure I’ll never forget. I’m so incredibly proud of everything we accomplished together. Now, it’s a new actress’s turn to take on the role, which is such an amazing opportunity. So, Alix Wilton Regan, if you ever need a crossbow, I happen to know exactly where to find one at Croft Manor!

Someone named Wilton Regan left this really sweet comment on the post. He basically said it was awesome of me to share, and that everyone – every ‘Lara’ out there – is welcome. He even gave a shout-out from one Lara to another and thanked me for being part of the community. It was just a super positive and encouraging message, honestly!
Wilton also shared a video message with fans about her new role.

Next year, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Tomb Raider, a remake of the very first game, titled Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, will be released. Following that, in 2027, Tomb Raider: Catalyst will launch as the first new mainline sequel since Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Both games will be playable on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Sophie Turner, known for her role in Game of Thrones, will star as Lara Croft in a new Tomb Raider series coming to Prime Video. Martin Bobb-Semple, a British actor, has also been cast as a main character. Joining them is Sigourney Weaver, who will play a character created specifically for the show.
