HBO Max Reveals Its 17 Biggest TV Shows Releasing In 2026

Recent marketing materials have revealed the 17 most anticipated series planned for HBO Max in 2026. With the current year winding down, Hollywood is starting to share its plans for the next 12 months, and 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for HBO Max. Viewers can look forward to major titles, including two new Game of Thrones spin-offs, the final seasons of popular shows like Euphoria, and the high-quality dramas and comedies the service is known for.

HBO Max, owned by Warner, has begun promoting its 2026 lineup with a new trailer. The over two-minute preview showcases more than a dozen of the platform’s biggest shows, offering quick glimpses of each one in a seemingly random order.

The preview highlighted upcoming seasons of The Pitt, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and the much-anticipated Lanterns from DC Studios.

Every Major TV Show Coming to HBO Max in 2026

The Pitt

HBO Max will start its new content lineup with season two of The Pitt. This popular medical drama, created by and starring Noah Wyle – who was also behind the show ER – gives viewers a realistic and intense look at what it’s like to work a shift in a hospital emergency room.

The first season revolved around a chaotic and demanding shift following a mass shooting at the hospital. Season 2 picks up ten months later, during a busy Fourth of July weekend. It will premiere on January 8, 2026.

Industry

The fourth and final season of the popular HBO drama Industry will premiere on HBO Max on January 11, 2026. This season will continue to follow the lives of people who work, or used to work, at Pierpoint Bank. However, the London office of Pierpoint is now closed, so things will be different this time around.

Season four of Industry will bring back Myha’la, Marisa Abela, and Kit Harington, and will also introduce new cast members Max Minghella, Kiernan Shipka, and Charlie Heaton.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is their second spin-off series based on the world of Game of Thrones. Unlike the original show, which centered on powerful families and the fight for the throne, this new fantasy series follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall, a wandering knight, and his companion, Aegon Targaryen. The story is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas.

Beginning January 18, 2026, viewers can watch Knight of the Seven on both HBO and HBO Max, featuring performances by Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell.

DTF St. Louis

DTF St. Louis is a darkly funny new miniseries created by Steven Conrad, who also wrote The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The show centers around three people in their 40s caught in a complicated love triangle, as they grapple with the challenges of getting older. But when one of them turns up dead, the situation quickly spirals out of control.

David Harbour, Jason Bateman, and Linda Cardellini are the main stars of the series. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.

The Comeback

Lisa Kudrow, best known for her role on Friends, is back with a new HBO sitcom called The Comeback. She created the show with Michael Patrick King, who also runs 2 Broke Girls, and it’s a funny, behind-the-scenes look at the world of Hollywood, presented in a mockumentary style.

The series centers around Valerie Cherish, played by Kudrow, a past-her-prime television actress who’s now the subject of a reality show – the very one the series is based on. Due to its popularity, the show has been renewed for two more seasons.

Rooster

Coming in March 2026, the new comedy series The Rooster stars Steve Carell and Charly Clive. Created by Bill Lawrence, the writer behind Scrubs, the show is set at a college and follows an author dealing with a challenging relationship with his daughter.

The 10-episode series has been given a nebulous release window for March 2026.

Mel Brooks The 99 Year Old Man!

Joining HBO’s vast catalog of documentary content will be 2026’s Mel Brooks: The 99 Year Old Man!

The upcoming documentary tells the story of the famous filmmaker, covering his entire career and his exciting return to directing with a new Space Balls movie.

Untitled Larry David Project

As a huge fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm, I was really wondering what Larry David would do after wrapping up that amazing 12-season run. Well, HBO Max just dropped a little hint about his next project – it’s currently just being called the “Untitled Larry David Project,” but I’m already excited!

I just got a look at a preview for David’s upcoming limited series, and it’s something special. Produced by the Obamas, it promises a really witty and engaging take on American history – basically, all the stories we’ve been telling ourselves for years, but with a clever, humorous twist. It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Euphoria

HBO’s popular drama, Euphoria, will conclude with its third season this April. It’s been over four years since new episodes aired, and the show will return with the cast playing characters who have moved on from high school and are navigating life afterward.

The third season of Euphoria will premiere in April, starring Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, and Jacob Elordi. You can find more details about the cast here.

Half Man

I’m really excited about what Richard Gadd, the mind behind the phenomenal Baby Reindeer, is bringing to HBO next. He’s developing a new series called Half Man, set to arrive in 2026, and it’s starring Jamie Bell. This project is another great example of the strong collaboration we’re seeing between HBO and the BBC – it’s a partnership that consistently delivers quality content.

Details about the new drama are scarce, but it’s believed to center around two brothers.

Hacks

The fifth season of the Emmy-winning comedy Hack will be its last, concluding the show’s five-year run on HBO. The season will continue to follow Deborah Vance, a famous Las Vegas comedian played by Jean Smart, and her young writer, Hannah Einbinder (also known as Ava Daniels).

Filming for the last episodes of the show began in New York City in September. While there’s no official release date yet, it’s expected to arrive around early summer.

Stuart Fails To Save The Universe

“Stuart Fails To Save The Universe” is the newest show connected to The Big Bang Theory. Following the success of the series about Sheldon Cooper’s early life, this comedy focuses on Stuart Bloom, the quirky comic book store owner who was a familiar face in the original Big Bang series.

The show centers around Kevin Sussman as Stuart, who has to travel through different universes and fix reality after it’s been broken.

House of the Dragon

Fans of the Game of Thrones universe have more to look forward to than just Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The popular series House of the Dragon is set to return in 2026 with its long-awaited third season.

The upcoming season of House of the Dragon continues to explore the story of the Targaryen family, set hundreds of years before the events of Game of Thrones. HBO has already renewed the show for a fourth season.

The Gilded Age

The popular series The Gilded Age was also highlighted in the recent preview. While Season 4 was announced in June, filming hasn’t begun, so it’s likely to premiere later this year.

This popular series takes place in 1880s New York City and follows several families as they try to climb the social ladder during a time of rapid growth and change. It explores how new wealth is disrupting the established order of the city.

War

George Kay, the creator of the hit series Lupin, is now working with HBO on a new legal drama called War. The show centers around a high-stakes divorce case involving a wealthy tech executive and a famous actress, and the rivalry between the two top law firms handling the split.

Production on War began in September, with a cast led by Dominic West, Sienna Miller, and Phoebe Fox.

Dune: Prophecy

In 2026, fans will have more than just the third Dune movie to look forward to. The second season of Dune: Prophecy, a series based on Frank Herbert’s novel, is also scheduled for release. This season will be set thousands of years before the events of the Dune films starring Timothée Chalamet.

The second season will once more center on the origins of the Bene Gesserit, a powerful group of interstellar witches determined to gain control throughout the galaxy.

Lanterns

In 2026, DC will launch a major series on HBO Max called Lanterns. This new live-action show, part of the DC Universe (DCU), follows Green Lanterns Hal Jordan (played by Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (played by Aaron Pierre) as they investigate a series of mysterious murders across the American Midwest that may have cosmic origins.

Originally planned for early 2026, the release of Lanterns has been pushed back to later in the year, likely before the end of summer.
