Warner Bros. is launching a big TikTok campaign for the new Supergirl movie. Starting December 13th, a special page will be available on TikTok with all the details fans need to know. The latest movie trailer will be the first video everyone in the US, Mexico, Canada, France, the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, and Australia sees when they open the app. As a fun bonus, TikTok’s logo will even be temporarily changed to celebrate the movie!
In addition to appearing on TikTok, the trailer will be shown in major public spaces like London’s Now Vista Building and Times Square in New York City, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The upcoming film Supergirl takes place in the same world as James Gunn’s Superman (2025) and tells the story of Kara Zor-El, played by Milly Alcock. Kara is Clark Kent (Kal-El)’s cousin, and like him, she’s a Kryptonian with a complex background.
After a brutal attack hits close to home, Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) teams up with a surprising ally for a massive quest to get revenge and deliver justice across the galaxy.
Directed by Craig Gillespie, known for I, Tonya, Supergirl stars Alcock, who also appears in House of the Dragon, with supporting roles played by Eve Ridley (The Witcher), Matthias Schoenaerts (Red Sparrow), Emily Beecham (King & Conqueror), Wil Coban (The Sandman), David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and David Corenswet (Twisters).

How Supergirl is ‘Very Different’ From Her Cousin
I’ve been reading about Kara, and apparently, while she’s connected to Clark, her background is totally different. According to Alcock, she didn’t grow up the same way at all, which makes her a lot more street-smart and a bit suspicious of people – in a good way, I think!
The actress, 25, shared that her character was raised on a planet facing destruction and has lost everyone she ever cared about. This has made her character very distrustful and hardened, as she explained during a recent press event for the new trailer, according to MovieWeb.
She’s very guarded and keeps people at a distance. Clark is the complete opposite – he’s naturally trusting and always expects the best in others. He’s lived a pretty protected life, but he also puts on an act sometimes. Kara, however, is always genuine. If she’s struggling, it shows; she doesn’t hide her feelings, which is really nice to portray as an actor.
Kara is honest about her flaws, and Alcock thinks this is a valuable lesson for the women who will see the movie.
You know, as a movie and TV fan, I’ve always loved what Supergirl brings to the table, especially for young women. It’s that you don’t have to be perfect to figure things out and be okay with yourself. We’re constantly told, especially women, that we need to be flawless, but Kara Danvers is amazing because she embraces her imperfections. That’s what makes her character so relatable and, honestly, really special.
Catch Supergirl in theaters on Jun. 26, 2026.
