As a Marvel fan, I’m definitely excited for the next Avengers films – and I know I’m not alone! Everyone’s waiting for more details, especially since Joe and Anthony Russo are directing. We know it’ll be a huge cast, but the big question is: who else will be joining them? Well, after hearing some things from Paul Bettany, a veteran of the MCU, I have a strong feeling we might be seeing his character pop up in one of those movies. It’s just a hunch, but it feels right!
Paul Bettany is well-known for playing Vision – and previously J.A.R.V.I.S. – in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, quickly becoming a favorite among fans. It’s been a while since we’ve seen him as the android character, but he recently finished filming the upcoming Marvel show Vision Quest, which is scheduled to be released in 2026. Bettany recently mentioned the Marvel heroes while discussing his work with The Daily Telegraph.
I think I’ve got some Avengers duties next year.
Marvel Studios is currently making two new Avengers movies: Doomsday, scheduled for release in 2026, and Secret Wars, coming in 2027. Filming for Doomsday has already finished, and Secret Wars is expected to begin filming next year. Recently, Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange, hinted on the Smartless podcast that he has “huge commitments involving cloaks floating about” in the coming year.
Paul Bettany’s recent statements shouldn’t be seen as a definite confirmation of his involvement in any upcoming Marvel projects. He only suggested he might be participating. However, with filming for Secret Wars scheduled for 2026, his comments could refer to that film, and it would logically fit for his character, Vision, to be included given that Secret Wars is intended to be a major culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Beyond potential superhero commitments, Bettany also indicated he’s exploring other acting opportunities.
Journalists often assume I’m flooded with script offers, but that’s just not the case. It’s not that I’m choosing Marvel projects over working with directors like Alfonso Cuarón; he simply hasn’t offered me anything yet.
Although it’s still uncertain if the actor will continue playing his character in future Avengers movies, fans can look forward to his return as White Vision in the upcoming series, Vision Quest. This show, created by Terry Matalas, is a sequel to the 2021 hit WandaVision and will follow the android on a new journey. He’ll encounter both new characters and familiar ones, including James Spader reprising his role as Ultron.

Disney+ offers a wide range of Marvel movies and shows, and you can subscribe starting at $11.99 per month with ads. For an ad-free experience, the plan costs $18.99 monthly, or you can save 16% by paying $189.99 for a full year. Check out the deal to start watching!
I’m really excited about the Vision show, but I also hope Paul Bettany gets to reprise his role in the next Avengers movies. It would feel strange if Vision wasn’t included, and I’m hoping this series sets things up for that to happen. Ideally, we’ll see Vision fighting alongside heroes like Captain America and Thor in a future movie within the next few years.
The new Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026. Until then, you can enjoy many other Marvel movies and shows by subscribing to Disney+.
