Hawkeye: Jeremy Renner & Hailee Steinfeld’s MCU Futures Get Intriguing Update

It’s been four years since Hawkeye first appeared, and Marvel Studios hasn’t announced what they have planned for Jeremy Renner‘s Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, a new rumor suggests what roles they might play in the current phase of the franchise.

What’s the potential MCU future for Hawkeye stars?

According to Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) are expected to team up and lead a new group of young heroes, known as the “Young Avengers.” Perez suggests we might see them together on screen soon, following their brief appearance in the movie The Marvels. This news supports previous rumors about a Champions series, which is thought to be a Young Avengers project.

Regarding Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, sources suggest Marvel Studios doesn’t currently have plans to bring the character back in future projects. This is likely because Clint Barton achieved the happy family life he desired at the conclusion of the Hawkeye series.

According to Perez, Kate Bishop and Kamala Khan are leading a new team called the Young Avengers, and we’ll be seeing them appear soon. As for Clint Barton, Perez believes he’s earned his retirement and that his story concluded perfectly. He’s been seeking a peaceful life for quite some time now.

This news follows Jeremy Renner’s recent announcement that he won’t appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars movies. The first season of Hawkeye was written by Jonathan Igla and directed by Amber Finlayson & Katie Ellwood (known as Bert and Bertie) alongside Rhys Thomas. The show has received positive reviews, currently holding a 92% ‘Certified Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
