Movie fans are eager to find out what the next James Bond film, Bond 26, will be like now that it’s being made by Amazon MGM Studios, with Denis Villeneuve directing and Steven Knight writing the script. But there’s another Bond project coming out sooner – and they’ve just announced the actor who will play the villain: a well-known musician.
Last night’s Game Awards featured several exciting reveals, including the first trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Actor Kravitz also discussed his role as the villain, Bawma, in the much-awaited James Bond: First Light game, which you can now pre-order. Kravitz shared these details in a post on X.
I’m playing Bawma in the new 007 game, First Light. He’s the biggest black-market dealer in the Western Hemisphere – a charming but dangerous man who worked his way up from poverty to create his own powerful empire, called Aleph.
Lenny Kravitz is famous for his music, but he’s also acted in several films and TV shows. He’s appeared in the Hunger Games movies, as well as The Butler and Precious, both directed by Lee Daniels. More recently, he was in Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding and Channing Tatum’s Blink Twice. He even provided voice work for the animated series Spider-Man Rocks!
He’s now voicing the newest James Bond villain, and Patrick Gibson is playing a younger version of the iconic spy as he completes the training mission to become a 00 agent.

Although we don’t yet know who will play James Bond in the next film, the news that Patrick Gibson (known for Dexter: Original Sin) will voice the character in an upcoming video game was met with positive reactions from fans. Gibson himself was surprised to find himself playing the role of the iconic spy.
It was surprising enough to be turned into a video game character, but seeing myself as James Bond was even more unexpected. I was really taken aback by how much the final result actually looked like me – I hadn’t anticipated that level of resemblance.
There was speculation that the new James Bond video game might follow the movie franchise’s lead by casting a younger actor, with Tom Holland even rumored as a possibility. However, it now appears the game will take a different approach, especially since the upcoming film is expected to be darker in tone, fitting with the style of the writer’s previous work on Peaky Blinders. Ultimately, fans will have to wait and see what Amazon MGM Studios has planned for the future of James Bond, but it’s likely the franchise won’t follow the same pattern as it has for the past six decades.
