Fans wanted one mechanic so badly in the sequel to the classic RPG that the devs had to delay the Early Access of Solast 2

Update (December 11)

During The Game Awards 2025, it was announced that Solasta 2 will launch in Early Access on March 12, 2026. You can see the announcement trailer below.

Original news (November 6)

Solasta 2 is getting closer to being released on Steam Early Access. The developers have shared an estimated timeframe for when players can expect to play the sequel to the popular RPG.

Tactical Adventures, the team behind Solasta: Crown of the Magister, announced a sequel nearly a year ago. After a long wait, they recently showed off the first gameplay footage and have now addressed key questions from the community.

Solasta 2 and Ready (for) Action

Okay, so I just saw the news on Steam – Solasta 2 is finally hitting Early Access in the first three months of 2026! They haven’t given us a specific date yet, but they said we’ll get more info soon. Honestly, with them saying ‘coming months,’ I wouldn’t expect it to drop super early in January. We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s good to finally have a timeframe!

The team expects the console version of the game to launch around the same time as the full 1.0 update. Currently, the Steam page doesn’t mention how long the Early Access period will be, but it looks like it could last at least a year. This means we probably won’t see the complete version of Solasta 2 until 2027.

The developers have announced what players can expect in the Early Access version: roughly 10 hours of gameplay, characters can reach level 4, and there will be 6 starting classes with the option to combine them. Players will also be able to choose from 4 different ancestries and build a complete team of heroes. A new feature called ‘Ready Action’ will let players plan ahead for specific combat situations, like an enemy getting close.

The game’s release has been pushed to next year largely because of player feedback. The developers originally intended to include this feature in the full version 1.0, but after positive responses to the demo, they’ve chosen to add it to the game during its Steam Early Access period. The multiplayer mode will come later as an update to Solasta 2 within Early Access.
