Who Will Lead The Avengers Against Doctor Doom In Doomsday?
Although the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ trailer isn’t official, it effectively demonstrates how many Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes could team up in the next movie. It also suggests a darker storyline and hints that Thor and Doctor Strange might be the leaders of the Avengers.
The fan trailer likely won’t be completely accurate to what we’ll actually see in Avengers: Doomsday. This is because the movie will feature two distinct Avengers teams. One team is made up of the former Thunderbolts, led by Yelena Belova, while the other is Captain America’s Avengers.
Okay, so after Captain America: Brave New World showed us Sam Wilson’s new Avengers crew will have Joaquin Torres – aka Falcon – in it, a recent Disney event in Italy pretty much laid out the full team for Doomsday. Apparently, we’re talking Thor, Loki, Shang-Chi, and Ant-Man joining Cap! Now, I’m glad Thor’s involved, but honestly, the trailer made it seem like he’d be leading the Avengers, and I really don’t think that’s the right move.
Could Thor And Doctor Strange Be In The Same Avengers Team In Doomsday?
As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve been following the news about Doctor Strange’s role in Avengers: Doomsday, and it’s been a bit confusing! Benedict Cumberbatch initially said he wasn’t in the movie, but then walked that back, saying he actually is. Still, Marvel hasn’t officially announced him as part of the cast alongside Chris Hemsworth and the rest of the team, which is a little strange considering they’ve confirmed other actors.
It would be very surprising if Doctor Strange wasn’t involved in Doomsday. He’s one of the MCU heroes most familiar with the multiverse, and his last appearance showed him trying to prevent a dimensional incursion. Plus, Strange is a skilled magic user, which directly connects him to Doctor Doom’s abilities. Because of this, it’s likely we’ll see Doctor Strange and Thor fighting alongside each other in Avengers: Doomsday.
