Dana White, the president of the UFC, has revealed he was responsible for taking down Streameast, a widely used website that illegally streamed UFC events.
Streameast was a popular website known for letting sports fans watch games and fights for free, but it did so illegally. The site was taken down briefly in August.
In El-Sheikh Zaid, Egypt, authorities working with the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment arrested two men suspected of violating copyright laws. They also confiscated various electronic devices, along with cryptocurrency and cash.
So, Streameast got taken down for a bit after that raid, but honestly, it was back up almost immediately with a new name. It’s been a crazy game of whack-a-mole – every time they shut one site down, another one appears with the same content. Apparently, Dan White has been really pushing to finally shut them down for good, which is good to hear.
Dana White takes credit for StreamEast crackdown
During an interview on Sundae Conversations with Caleb Pressley, White discussed the closure of the streaming service.
He admitted to cutting down many streamers, saying it was something he really enjoyed. He also confirmed they actively targeted people, taking the situation very seriously.

UFC has consistently cracked down on illegal streams of its events. Dana White explained in 2024 that they’ve been actively prosecuting those who pirate content, and that’s their main strategy for fighting the problem, rather than lowering pay-per-view prices.
I saw StreamEast basically calling out Dana White after he made that statement, saying something like, “If you’re gonna talk, then do something about it!” They also made a point about how it’s time for Dana to start giving back to the fans and, more importantly, the fighters who actually put on the shows.

The UFC president also stated that illegal streaming actually helps both the organization and its fighters. He compared it to theft, saying, “Those who steal face consequences – they get caught and punished,” and added that he personally ensures legal action is taken against those who illegally stream UFC events, as he told GQ in 2022.
