Like many of us, James Cameron is a fan of KPop Demon Hunters. He recently expressed concerns about the future of movie theaters, especially with companies like Netflix and Warner Bros. joining forces. He admitted enjoying KPop Demon Hunters before discussing how people are increasingly getting used to watching content on streaming services. At the premiere of his new film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, he told Empire Magazine he worries this trend could mean the end of traditional cinema, something he’s passionate about avoiding. He wants to keep making films designed for the big screen experience.
Just before the screening started, the director of Avatar, who is also an ocean explorer, spoke about how important it is to see movies in a cinema, especially in Paris, a city that really values this experience. According to Variety, Cameron said France has more movie lovers per person than any other country, and supporting the arts feels like a duty there. It makes you wonder if he’ll encourage American movie fans to feel the same sense of community and appreciation when they go to the movies together when he returns home.
