Players aiming to fully explore Battlecrest Slope in the Qinghe region of Where Winds Meet might be frustrated to find that the two Encounter missions there won’t start, even after multiple attempts.
You can’t fully complete the Battlecrest Slope area until you finish these two quests, even if you’ve already found everything else and done all the side content.

Little Master’s Legacy in Where Winds Meet
How to Start Little Master’s Legacy 1-4
In Where Winds Meet, you can start the Little Master’s Legacy quest by defeating enemy groups in the Battlecrest Slope area of Qinghe. Look for small camps with three or four enemies gathered around a campfire – they’re protecting a chest.
After defeating a bandit camp, you might see a message on your screen that starts the ‘Little Master’s Legacy’ quest. If this happens, a character named Xiao Ping’an will appear near the camp and ask you to demonstrate a weapon skill for him.
Little Master’s Legacy 1-4 Walkthrough
- Little Master’s Legacy 1: Xiao Ping’an asks you to perform Noname Sword’s Daunting Strike move.
- Little Master’s Legacy 2: Xiao Ping’an asks you to perform the Strategic Sword’s Inner Track Slash move (requires unlocking the Strategic Sword).
- Little Master’s Legacy 3: Xiao Ping’an asks you to perform Stormbreaker Spear’s Storm Roar move.
- Little Master’s Legacy 4: A Villager will appear to say that Xiao Ping’an does not consider you his disciple anymore, but sends a Peace Spear weapon as an apology.
This will mark the Little Master’s Legacy quest chain complete.
I found this guy, Xiao Ping’an, hanging out in a cave close to the Verdant Wilds river – the map showed me where. You can chat with him to learn about his story, but honestly, it’s optional and doesn’t affect finishing the quest.
When Do Enemy Camps Respawn?
The Little Master’s Legacy encounters appear randomly, so you might clear every enemy camp in Battlecrest Slope without triggering the fourth encounter. If that happens, your only option is to wait for the daily reset at 4:00 PM Eastern Time, which will respawn the camps and give you another chance.
Simply waiting in the game won’t make enemy camps reappear. You’ll need to wait for the daily or weekly reset to see them restock with enemies.
Recipe’s Heir in Where Winds Meet
How to Start Recipe’s Heir Encounter
You can start the Recipe’s Heir quest by trying all 10 unique dishes from the Qinghe region in the game Where Winds Meet. You can buy these dishes from various vendors throughout the game.
| Food Vendor | Location | Dishes | Screenshot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yan Fengzi | Harvestfall Village | Fried Snails Snail Meat |
|
| Yuan Xianxian | Heaven’s Pier | Hodgepodge Stew Braised Pork Belly Slices |
|
| Yuan Tiantian | Heaven’s Pier | Honey Pear Ball Pear Soup |
|
| Pan Mingrong | Mercyheart Town | Jujube Flatbread Seven’s Flatbread |
|
| Li Daniang | Finesteed Hamlet | Kumis Pastry Spicy Cheese Crisp |
|
Find food vendors easily by looking for the food stall icon on the mini-map while you’re in town.
After collecting all 10 food items, eat each one from your bag. If you’ve done everything correctly, a notification will appear on your screen, and a quest marker for “Recipe’s Heir” will show up on your map – you can find more details about the quest in your Journal.
Recipe’s Heir Encounter Not Working
Sometimes, even after collecting all ten Qinghe dishes from the food stalls, the “Recipe’s Heir” quest might not start. This happened to us, and here’s how we fixed it to make the quest pop-up appear:
- Open Journal (J), go to the Encounters Tab, and either Give Up (T) all active Encounters or complete them to clear the log.
- Increase Affection with two food stall owners to 100.
- Buy all 10 Qinghe food items again and eat them once more.
- Stand in front of Yuan Xianxian’s food stall in Heaven’s Pier and buy and eat three more dishes from her.
There are reports that waiting a full 20 minutes after receiving the food buff might start the quest, though this hasn’t been confirmed. Some players believe you need over 120 Elegance to get the quest, but we’ve successfully started it with only 42 Elegance, so that’s not true.
Recipe’s Heir Walkthrough
Once you start the quest, simply follow the on-screen directions. They’ll lead you through the steps to create a dish for a well-known chef in Qinghe. Here’s how to do it:
- Talk to Boss Xie at the cooking station.
- Hunt a pheasant and bring it back to him.
- Find a secluded spot to mourn the pheasant.
- Talk to the Elder nearby.
- Bring back the pheasant to Boss Xie.
- Use the cooking station to cook a Crispy Pheasant dish. You will need the following ingredients:
- Lethal Frog Meat x2 (Can be purchased from Xiong Da, Peddler at Heaven’s Pier).
- Mushrooms x2 (Can be purchased from Qinghe/Kaifeng General Goods Vendors).
- Vicious Flower x1 (Can be purchased from Xiong Da, Peddler at Heaven’s Pier).
- Bring the Crispy Pheasant to Boss Xie.
- Activate Wind Sense (V) and heal Boss Xie from his illness.
- Set up a new stall.
- Talk to the food thief.
- Return to Boss Xie’s stall.
- Use Wind Sense to track the footsteps and find Boss Xie.
