New Blade MCU Movie Rumor Is Bad News for Marvel Fans

A recent online rumor is giving fans a glimpse of what might be next for Marvel’s upcoming Blade movie, starring Mahershala Ali. The film, first announced in 2019, has faced several setbacks during development, including changes in directors and cast members.

What’s the new rumor about the Blade MCU movie?

A recent report from The DisInsider suggests Marvel Studios may have cancelled their plans for the Blade movie, even though there’s been talk of it still being in development. The report claims Blade, played by Mahershala Ali, could instead appear in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars or a potential Midnight Sons film. However, The DisInsider admits their Marvel information isn’t always accurate, so this should be considered just a rumor.

Currently, the project doesn’t have a confirmed director or release date. Several people were previously involved, including directors Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange, and writers Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Beau DeMayo, Michael Starrbury, Michael Green, and Eric Pearson. Because of repeated delays, it’s uncertain whether Mia Goth and Milan Ray are still starring, especially since Aaron Pierre and Delroy Lindo have already left the film.

In addition to the upcoming Blade movie, Marvel Studios is reportedly working on a film based on the Midnight Sons. Recent buzz suggests Ghost Rider could lead this team of supernatural heroes. The movie will draw inspiration from the 1993 Marvel Comics series created by Howard Mackie, Andy Kubert, and Bobby Chase, which featured characters like Ghost Rider, Blade, Moon Knight, Elsa Bloodstone, and Doctor Strange.
