Sony is teaming up with Bad Robot Games, the video game company founded by Star Wars and Star Trek director JJ Abrams, to create and release a new cooperative shooting game. The game is being developed by Mike Booth, who is best known as the creator of Left 4 Dead.
A new four-player cooperative shooter is in development, led by director Booth, and planned for release on PlayStation 5 and PC. Currently, no specific release date or gameplay details have been shared.
Anna Sweet, CEO of Bad Robot Games, shared that they’re aiming to create a really unique and exciting game for players. She expressed great enthusiasm for Mike Booth leading the creative development of a cooperative adventure designed to be a memorable experience when played with friends.
Christian Svensson from Sony stated that Bad Robot’s distinctive style and dedication to new ideas are a great fit for Sony Interactive Entertainment’s goal of creating games that truly connect with players.
Bad Robot Games, established in 2018 with support from Tencent and Warner Bros. Games, revealed in 2021 that it had secured $40 million in funding to develop a major new video game.
Abrams was previously working with Epic on a game called Spyjinx, but it has vanished.
