Octopath Traveler 0: Where to find the missing books for the Side-Story Books Overdue

Once you finish Chapter 2 of Octopath Traveler 0, a new quest called “Books Overdue” will become available from the librarian in Atlasdam. Like other quests in the game, you’ll need to complete a series of tasks, but this one doesn’t show you exactly where to go on the map. This guide will help you find your way!

This task is straightforward if you know where to find the items. You need to collect three book keys – one each from Sufrataljah, the Donescu area, and Berecain – and bring them back to the librarian in Atlasdam. See the list below for specific details.

You might not have reached Berecain yet in the game. It’s located in the southeastern corner of the map, past the Valley of Death and Berecain Pass. While you won’t be able to fully interact with the town until Chapter 3 of the Bestower of Fame questline, you can find and collect the Healing Hot Springs as soon as you start the quest.

Completing this quest will reward you with 16,000 leaves, a Librarian’s Amulet, and an increase in your Fame rank. The Librarian’s Amulet is a useful item, especially for healers or characters who use a lot of skill points (SP). It boosts your SP by 120 and also provides a +120 bonus to Elemental Defense.
