Xbox Game Pass’ Stunning New Free Game Is One We Never Thought We’d See

Xbox Game Pass is getting a brand new game on the day it launches, and it’s one many players thought would never arrive after such a long development period. Microsoft’s subscription service already includes hundreds of games, with new titles added and some removed regularly. With so many options, it’s easy for some games to fly under the radar – there are always a few that don’t get much attention on Xbox Game Pass.

I’m really excited about all the free stuff available! They’ve added some cool titles like 1000xResist recently, and it’s easy to forget that even super popular games like Stardew Valley are included for free with the service. Plus, on top of the regular free games, Xbox Game Pass members get extra freebies like a Fortnite Crew pack, a Call of Duty: Warzone bundle, and even a three-month subscription to Discord Nitro!

Xbox Game Pass New Game Is Over 10 Years In The Making

Routine Is A Day-One Release On December 4

December’s Xbox Game Pass lineup includes the day-one release of Routine on December 4th. This sci-fi horror game will be available to those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscriptions. If you have a different plan (like Premium or Essential), you’ll need to upgrade to play. You can enjoy the game on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, compatible handhelds, and through cloud gaming.

The horror game Routine has had a remarkably long development cycle, beginning over a decade ago in 2012. Lunar Software, the game’s developer, remained largely silent about its progress for many years, and development was even paused for a time. It resumed in 2020 with Raw Fury taking on publishing duties, and now, after more than 10 years, Routine is finally ready to be released.

Routine Looks Absolutely Incredible

The Survival Horror Game Is Set On A Lunar Base

Routine is a scary, first-person sci-fi game set on a moon base. You’ll need to explore and survive while being hunted by dangerous robots. Resources are limited, so staying hidden is key. The game is visually stunning, with a detailed and unsettling atmosphere.

If you enjoy scary games with a tense atmosphere, similar to Alien: Isolation, you’ll probably like Routine. It’s a great addition to the Xbox Game Pass library and worth playing right away.
