Okay, so huge news for baseball fans like me! Sony’s bringing MLB The Show to mobile! They’re not just porting it over, they’re building a whole new version from scratch specifically for phones and tablets. They’re starting with a test in the Philippines soon, and if that goes well, they’re planning to release it worldwide. I’m super excited to finally be able to play The Show on the go!
I’m so excited – the Philippines gets to start testing the game today, December 3rd! It’s a little frustrating that it’s just in one region right now, but honestly, it’s pretty typical for mobile games to launch this way. Hopefully, it’ll be available everywhere else soon!
The mobile version of The Show is a separate game and won’t let you play with people on PlayStation or Xbox. It’s designed to run best on iPhone 16 (or similar Apple phones), Samsung Galaxy S25, Sony Xperia V, or other comparable smartphones.
Watch the trailer below for a sneak peek at the mobile version of the professional baseball game.
Here are the minimum system requirements, and please note that iPads and other tablets aren’t compatible. During the initial limited release, you’ll be able to purchase in-game currency called Stubs, and any Stubs you don’t use will be available when the full game launches.
When the game officially launches, any purchased but unopened packs and player items won’t transfer over. Instead, you’ll receive an in-game currency to spend at the new “Loyalty Shop.” Also, most of the progress and content you’ve earned during the soft launch will be reset.
As a huge baseball fan, I used to only be able to play MLB The Show on PlayStation. But things got so much better when MLB The Show 21 came out on Xbox too! Then, to my excitement, MLB The Show 22 even made its way to the Nintendo Switch, so now even more of us can enjoy the game!
MLB The Show 26 is the latest installment in the popular baseball video game series. It’s expected to be released in 2026, likely coinciding with the beginning of the new MLB season.
