When is Pluribus Episode 6 out this week? Release date change explained

The Apple TV show Pluribus premiered last Wednesday, but new episodes aren’t following the same schedule. Here’s what you need to know about when Episode 6 will be available.

Pluribus is a hugely popular show right now, centered around a thrilling story: a mind virus is connecting everyone’s thoughts, except for a few unlikely individuals who might be the key to saving the world.

This setup has sparked a lot of speculation about a possible collective consciousness and how it relates to the main character, Carol Sturka. Some fans even think her name could hint at future plot developments.

The latest episode of Pluribus, number 5, contained its most shocking moment so far. Episode 6 will be released on a different day this week – see the details below for more information.

Pluribus release date & time

The sixth episode of Pluribus will be available on Apple TV at 6pm Pacific Time / 9pm Eastern Time on Friday, December 5, 2025. This returns to the show’s regular release day, after Episode 5 was released early last week because of Thanksgiving.

Okay, so this is pretty standard for how the streaming service drops its new shows. If you don’t live in the US, you’ll need to do a little math to figure out when it’ll be available where you are. But here are the times for a few regions so you know exactly when to start watching!

How many episodes are there?

The first season has nine episodes, but the show isn’t stopping there. Apple approved two more seasons right away after winning the rights to create Pluribus.

The first episode, titled ‘We is Us,’ kicks off the series with an astronomer’s groundbreaking discovery that dramatically changes life on Earth. We meet Carol Sturka, a grumpy novelist, who is deeply unsettled by this new reality.

Episode 2, ‘Pirate Lady,’ introduces Carol to the strange ways things are now, with a face that seems strangely familiar. A meeting in Europe brings a group of strangers together, but not without some conflict.

In Episode 3, ‘Grenade,’ people’s attempts to help Carol only frustrate her further. A personal conversation takes an unexpected and explosive turn.

In episode 4, titled ‘Please, Carol,’ Carol pushes the limits of this unusually truthful environment, damaging her pride in the process. Meanwhile, someone else discovers they aren’t as isolated as they thought.

In episode 5, titled ‘Got Milk,’ Carol intensifies her investigation, even if it means facing things alone. The episode also introduces a new threat, signaled by mysterious howls at night.

In episode 6, titled ‘HPD’, Carol uncovers something shocking and gains new understanding, while Mr. Diabaté enjoys life to the fullest in Las Vegas.

What is Pluribus about?

Pluribus tells the story of a deeply unhappy woman who surprisingly becomes the world’s last hope against… well, too much happiness.

I’m so excited about Rhea Seehorn’s new role! She plays Carol Sturka, and the premise is wild – suddenly, everyone wants to make this woman happy. It’s like the whole world just decides to be nice and peaceful all at once, becoming this unbelievably harmonious collective. It sounds fascinating!

The story explores a larger theme reflecting Vince Gilligan’s observations about current society. He explained to ScreenRant that the narrative asks whether a certain outcome would truly be negative, or could even be considered ideal, leaving it up to the audience to interpret for themselves.

I’m not going to explain how to interpret this. However, I hope it makes people consider that there might be different approaches than the ones currently being used in the United States.

Honestly, what you get out of the show is totally up to you. The creator, Gilligan, put it best – it’s just TV, and it’s not meant to solve all the world’s problems. But he hopes people watch and start thinking about what kind of world they want to live in, or if that world shown in the show is something they’d even consider. They really put a lot of effort into making this apocalypse feel different from anything else out there.

If you enjoyed Pluribus, Vince Gilligan discusses what makes it different from shows like The Walking Dead and The Last of Us. Plus, check out some other highly-rated shows to watch this month, and here’s a look at the best TV shows of 2025 so far.
