Stranger Things Season 5 to feature “most violent death” and it’s obvious who

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is promising its most shocking and violent death yet, and viewers are already speculating about which character won’t survive.

The first part of the new season arrived on Netflix on November 26th. It picks up over a year after the end of Season 4, with Hawkins under quarantine, the military searching for Eleven, and Vecna missing.

I was relieved nobody important died in the first chapter, but honestly, with two more volumes still coming, I’m bracing myself for some major characters to bite the dust in the next episodes. I just know it’s going to happen!

The Duffer brothers recently hinted to The Times that while Season 5 won’t be as consistently violent as Season 4, it will feature the most shocking character death of the entire series. However, some fans believe Steve or Eleven won’t be the ones to die, and they have a different idea about who’s at risk.

Stranger Things Season 5 “most violent death” theory

Fans on Reddit are discussing a hint about a character’s “violent death,” but many believe it doesn’t automatically mean a fan favorite will die. They’ve speculated that either Dr. Kay or Vecna could be the one facing this fate.

One person pointed out it wasn’t necessarily a main character who died, and another suggested it could be a villain, like Dr. Kay.

“Or number 1,” added a third, with a fourth agreeing, “Yeah, probably Vecna’s.”

Many fans have shared similar thoughts, believing the creators of Stranger Things wouldn’t harm a major character with a graphic death. One fan stated, “They won’t kill off a main character violently.”

Someone else pointed out that the show rarely kills off important characters without giving them a touching goodbye scene – unless you’re referring to Bob, of course! They explained that a meaningful farewell isn’t possible if a character dies violently, like being torn apart or decapitated.

Honestly, everyone’s wondering how the show can possibly outdo Vecna’s gruesome kills from last season! One person put it perfectly – how do you even get more terrifying than someone’s limbs breaking, their face twisting, and then… their eyes being pulled into their skull? It’s a tough act to follow, that’s for sure!

Honestly, even the way people died in Season 3 was pretty disturbing. Someone pointed out how they’d just collapse and… dissolve into this gross pool of blood and stuff. Vecna’s victims were definitely scary, but those melting scenes? Super nasty, but I kinda couldn’t look away, lol.

According to Laura Hurley at Cinemablend, the most shocking death of Season 5 Volume 1 likely already happened – it was the moment Vecna impaled a wounded soldier through the eyes with his claws.

This death probably isn’t impactful or shocking enough to be the major one the creators hinted at. It’s more likely the biggest, most surprising death is still coming, either in the second part of this season or the very last episode, where we expect the most important events to happen.

As one fan pointed out, “Well.. guess we’re gonna find out.”

The final episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 will be released on Netflix in two parts: the first on Christmas Day, and the very last episode on New Year’s Eve.

I’ve been totally hooked on Stranger Things, and if you have too, you won’t want to miss this! I just read about that warning parents are sharing about the newest season, and it’s pretty interesting. I also dove into a breakdown of how Season 5 Volume 1 ended – seriously, what a cliffhanger! – and checked out the soundtrack, which is amazing as always. Oh, and they even have a rundown of the best characters, so you can relive all the moments with your faves!
