MCU’s Scarlet Witch Problem Highlighted in WandaVision Sequel Vision Quest

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is facing a challenge with how it portrays Scarlet Witch, and the next installment following WandaVision highlights this issue. After WandaVision aired, Scarlet Witch quickly became a central figure in the MCU. She played the primary villain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and recent comic books have even established her as the new Sorcerer Supreme.

Even though Scarlet Witch is a powerful and beloved character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems Marvel Studios isn’t sure how to use her. The version of her from the main MCU timeline died in Doctor Strange, and Elizabeth Olsen has hinted she doesn’t expect to return to the role soon, even in films like Avengers: Doomsday. A new show coming out highlights this issue: it’s continuing storylines based on Scarlet Witch’s past, but without actually including the character herself.

Following Agatha All Along, the next series connected to WandaVision will be Vision Quest. It will center on White Vision as he comes to terms with regaining the memories of the original Vision and moving on from Westview. The title suggests White Vision will embark on a journey to discover who he is, and how to balance his restored memories with his difficulty connecting emotionally with others – like Wanda. This also indicates that Scarlet Witch won’t be the focus of this next installment.

Wanda Maximoff didn’t make an appearance in Agatha All Along because the show takes place after the events of WandaVision and after her character died in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to explore stories connected to the Scarlet Witch, it doesn’t seem interested in actually including Scarlet Witch in those stories. It appears her family and those who opposed her are still relevant to the MCU, but Wanda herself isn’t.

What Elizabeth Olsen Has Said About The Future Of Scarlet Witch

It’s especially disappointing that Scarlet Witch hasn’t been in many recent Marvel projects, and Elizabeth Olsen has confirmed there are no immediate plans for the character. While it’s unclear where the Vision Quest series fits into the MCU timeline, Olsen revealed she wasn’t informed about the show until after filming was completed (according to Nerdist). She’s also stated that Wanda won’t appear in Avengers: Doomsday (via Playlist).

Elizabeth Olsen has confirmed she won’t be in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ film and stated she doesn’t know when or how her character, Wanda, will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I’m very pleased with what we’ve accomplished, but I don’t know the answer to that question.

You know, I really can’t picture Scarlet Witch showing up in ‘Doomsday,’ but I’m definitely holding out hope! I’m eager to see her reprise the role because I think the character’s arc has been fantastic, and I’ve genuinely loved watching her journey unfold. It’s always exciting to revisit a character like that, but honestly, I have no clue when or how they might bring her back – it’s a total mystery!

Although it’s possible Elizabeth Olsen isn’t telling us everything about a potential return as Scarlet Witch – Marvel is known for keeping secrets – her statements feel honest. She appears eager to play the character again, but it sounds like Marvel doesn’t currently have plans for her to do so, which seems to disappoint her.

Will Wanda Return In Avengers: Doomsday?

With no new appearances planned for Scarlet Witch and Elizabeth Olsen hinting at her departure, many are wondering if Wanda will be in Avengers: Doomsday. While everything points to her not being included – especially considering what happened in Doctor Strange and Olsen’s statements – we won’t know for sure until the movie actually comes out.

Scarlet Witch could still appear in the upcoming Doomsday movie. The film will explore the multiverse, featuring alternate versions of characters from different realities. Since the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom are being brought in from one alternate Earth (Earth-828) to another (Earth-616), it’s definitely possible we’ll see a different version of Scarlet Witch – perhaps even the one from Earth-828 – in the movie.

It’s still unclear whether Scarlet Witch will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel is known for keeping surprises, and bringing back a beloved character like Wanda would be a great move for the next Avengers films. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation. For now, fans of Scarlet Witch can only hope Marvel finds a way to give her a good storyline in the future.
