Thursday marked the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, featuring celebrities, elaborate floats, and giant balloons. This year’s parade, part of the 2025 TV lineup, had some exciting moments, including a special appearance by Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, stars of Law & Order. Fans also loved that they were carrying the popular Starbucks bear glass!
Okay, so Starbucks dropped this adorable glass bear cup earlier this month to kick off the holiday season, and it came with a straw and the cutest little Starbucks hat as a lid! But seriously, they only put out a tiny amount in each store. It was crazy! People were lining up hours before the stores even opened, desperate to get their hands on one. I’ve been seeing all these TikToks about it – people are sharing stories of how quickly they sold out, and even some baristas apparently buying them or hiding them for regulars! It’s become a whole thing!
Of course, with their NBC connection and promotion of Starbucks, Hargitay and Meloni were each able to get their hands on a Bearista cup. Meloni couldn’t help but show off their cups on Instagram, and I have an inkling that even if it wasn’t for a promotion, he would still proudly show off the cup because who wouldn’t?

Mariska Hargitay and Kelly Meloni made a surprise appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to promote Starbucks. They chatted about the various Starbucks drinks and expressed a desire to share warm beverages with the parade viewers. Footage later showed people enjoying Starbucks cups, though not the limited-edition Bearista designs.
We don’t know if Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni actually use these cups, or if they were just props, but I really like them! I just hope they don’t accidentally end up as evidence on Law & Order, like a mishap from Game of Thrones.

It’s always a pleasure to see Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni share the screen, and their connection goes way back to the start of Law & Order: SVU. They had instant chemistry during their initial audition together. Even though Organized Crime moved to Peacock, their characters, Olivia and Elliot, have still appeared on both shows. While it’s unclear if that will continue as SVU enters its 27th season, many fans likely wouldn’t be surprised to see Elliot return.
As the holidays get underway, many are enjoying cozy moments with their Starbucks Bearista cups while watching Law & Order on Peacock. Fans have plenty of favorite scenes with Olivia and Elliot to revisit, and we can look forward to even more from Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni in the new year, both on TV and online. It’s exciting to think about what they’ll do next!
