In Marvel’s Ultimate Wolverine #14, the hunt for missing mutants becomes frightening when Wolverine and Jean Grey realize the captives might be held in Magik’s dimension, Limbo. Their quest to find Illyana quickly leads to a fierce fight with the Eurasian Republic’s army, including a powerful new version of Lady Deathstrike.

Lady Deathstrike first appeared in Marvel Comics’ Daredevil #197 in 1983, created by Denny O’Neil, Klaus Janson, Larry Hama, and William Johnson. Her difficult childhood, marked by abuse from her father, the villain Lord Dark Wind (Kenji Oyama), led her to become the deadly cyborg assassin she is known as today.

Fans are thrilled to learn Lady Deathstrike is joining the current Ultimate Universe, but her debut is happening right before the entire line ends. It was announced at New York Comic Con in October that she’ll appear in April, the same month that The Ultimates #24 will conclude the main story of the Ultimate Universe.

When the news was announced, Marvel Comics and Franchise head Dan Buckley explained that fans would be able to experience the complete story – from start to finish – and enjoy it for years, sharing it with others as well.

Deniz Camp, writer of The Ultimates and a key creator of the Ultimate Universe, shared his feelings about the line’s upcoming conclusion. He described it as a deeply emotional moment, representing the fulfillment of everything writer Jonathan Hickman originally envisioned. Camp explained that all the different storylines and characters are coming together for a grand finale that will be impactful, dramatic, and involve significant character deaths. He promised it will be an unforgettable event.

Ultimate Wolverine #14 goes on sale Feb. 4, 2026 from Marvel Comics.
