Players who participated in the Battlefield 6 open beta could enter the “Destruction Receipts” contest run by Electronic Arts. While the contest ended almost two months ago (September 30th), the prize was only recently awarded to the winner, who has since admitted to cheating.
Players excited to compete shared raw, 30-second videos online using #BF6Receipts. The challenge involved destroying valuable in-game equipment, and the players who inflicted the most damage won.
The winner of the Battlefield 6 contest allegedly admitted to cheating
So, there was this guy, Vusal_Mahmudlu, who was a huge Battlefield fan and actually won something pretty crazy. He got this “gold” bar back in November, and it basically represented all the in-game gear that had been blown up – like, $336 million worth! He posted a pic of the bar on Reddit, along with a letter from Vince Zampella, who’s the head of the Battlefield team, which was really cool.
I saw this post from a player who said they absolutely crushed it in a recent match! They apparently took down a helicopter and two jet planes – even their own, which is wild! They promised to share the video as proof, but then… nothing. And to top it off, comments were disabled, so no one could even ask about it. It’s super frustrating – I really wanted to see this epic takedown!
He’s probably facing backlash because he allegedly confessed to cheating. Someone who accused him of being dishonest reported that he initially admitted to increasing the speed of his video by 22%, but then he removed that admission.
Just to reiterate, the short video clips couldn’t be changed after filming. If the claims are correct, the winning performance lasted longer than 30 seconds, and the footage was sped up to meet the time limit.
It seems unlikely EA missed this cheating, but if they did, it raises questions about the judges’ oversight. The video of the incident is still circulating on X (formerly Twitter) and can be viewed below. So far, the game developers haven’t commented on the situation.
Battlefield 6 is currently available to play for free! You can try it out without cost until December 2nd, 2025, at 4:00 AM Pacific Time.
