Okay, so as a big Impaulsive fan, I’ve been following the drama with SteveWillDoIt leaving the show so abruptly. Mike Majlak just dropped a really detailed explanation of what happened – apparently Steve walked off less than 40 minutes into the episode! It’s caused a huge discussion online, and everyone’s trying to figure out what went down behind the scenes. Mike’s response really dives into everything, so it’s interesting to get his side of things.
The episode was filmed soon after Steve revealed he’d be back on YouTube in December, after his ban ended. During filming, the founder of NELK Boys left the set twice without warning and made several comments that had to be edited out after the fact.
I learned that Majlak actually reached out to Steve himself to get him on the show – they’re really good friends, even when they’re not in the public eye, which is cool!
The conflict started when Steve began drinking a lot during the show, according to a post on X. Majlak explained that while Steve was free to make his own choices, his behavior led to comments that could seriously harm his attempt to revive his YouTube channel.

To avoid that result, Majlak explained that the team removed over 20 minutes of video. He believes this editing choice negatively affected the episode’s flow and possibly made the hosts seem more confrontational.
He explained that Logan Paul only requested Steve to step back after repeated warnings, and Steve wasn’t removed from the set at any point.
The YouTuber explained that Steve made the decision to leave independently, even though the hosts tried to de-escalate things and change the subject. He noted that his efforts to help Steve clarify his thoughts or ease the tension were lost because only short, edited clips of the interaction were shared online.
Mike explained that they still chose to release the episode because of how much time and money goes into making each Impaulsive recording.
I really felt like I needed to take care of everything for Steve since he was my guest – all the travel arrangements, making sure we stayed on budget, and respecting his time during the shoot. I was hoping we could do some careful editing to protect Steve’s privacy, but still create an episode that could really get people talking about important issues like mental health and substance use. It was a tricky balance, but I thought it was possible.
Majlak admitted that releasing the episode might have been a mistake, but he maintains that he did the right thing by taking responsibility for it.
The Impaulsive cohost finished by saying he and Steve had talked the night before and that everything was good between them. He confirmed Steve wasn’t bothered by any of the online drama, and actually thought the reaction was in line with the kind of content Steve has been creating lately.
