Kirby Air Riders lets you ride a total of 24 different machines, and you can also unlock and build four powerful, legendary machines by completing challenges in City Trial.

Unlocking Every Machine In Kirby Air Riders

Let’s begin with the standard machines you have access to. You’ll start with only three, so focus on unlocking more as soon as possible.

Formula Star
  • Top Ride: Finish a race without crashing into a wall
  • Air Ride: On Galactic Nova, finish a race without touching the energy columns around Nova’s core
Bulk Star
  • Air Ride: On Steamgust Forge, break 3 pieces of cargo on the conveyor belts during a single race
  • City Trial: Use 8 attack items in a single match
Rocket Star
  • Road Trip: Ride for 180 seconds during a Top Ride challenge
  • Cityh Trial: Swap to a vacant machine 30 times
Swerve Star
  • Top Ride: On Cyber, win with at least 3 seconds between you and the 2nd place rider
  • Road Trip: Complete a Race challenge 10 times
Turbo Star
  • Road Trip: Clear a Stadium challenge 3 times
  • City Trial: Fly for 110 yards up into the air and fly above the garden in the sky
Jet Star
  • Road Trip: Ride for a total of 5,469 yards during Stadium challenges
  • City Trial: Get struck by lightning after flying too far away from the city’s edges
Wheelie Bike
  • City Trial: Swap to 3 different types of machines in a single match
  • Road Trip: Clear City Trial challenges at least 3 times during a Road Trip
Rex Wheelie
  • Road Trip: Defeat 3 enemies with a star-shaped projectile in a single challenge
  • Air Ride: On Waveflow Waters, defeat 20 enemies during a single race
Wheelie Scooter
  • Air Ride: On Floria Fields, finish in 1st place during a lap race
  • Top Ride: On Flow, finish a lap without crashing into a wall more than 3 times
Hop Star
  • Air Ride: On Checker Knights, fly over the wall to the road that leads to the castle
  • Road Trip: Jump 10 times during a Top Ride challenge
Vampire Star
  • Road Trip: Defeat 15 different kinds of enemies
Paper Star
  • Air Ride: On Crystalline Fissure, glide continuously for 3 seconds without landing
  • City Trial: Fly a distance of 547 yards during an Air Glider event
Chariot
  • Air Ride: On Airotpia Ruijns, finish within 3 minutes
  • Top Ride: On Flow, finish within 1 minute
Battle Chariot
  • Top Ride: Hit 2 riders at once with a Sensor Bomb
Tank Star
  • Top Ride: On Steam, go through the hidden passage on the course and then finish within 55 seconds
  • Road Trip: Complete 2 perfect landings during an Air Ride challenge
Bull Tank
  • City Trial: Win a Dustup Derby without being defeated at all
Transform Star
  • Air Ride: On Cyberion Highway, use a switch to make a platform appear 2 times during a single race
  • Top Ride: On Crystal, complete a lap after going through all of the crystal dash zones
Flight Warp Star
  • Miles Shop: Must be purchased in the Miles Shop for 3,600 points
Compact Star
  • Play City Trial for the first time
