Fans are getting more and more hyped for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and a recent rumor suggests the movie will feature incredibly intense fight scenes with Spider-Man, the Punisher, and the Hulk.
Most of Punisher’s Spider-Man 4 fights rumored to be shot by stuntmen
On November 26th, a popular X (formerly Twitter) user named MyTimeToShineHello posted that they’d heard about incredibly intense fight scenes filmed involving Spider-Man, the Punisher, and the Hulk.
The rumor also claimed that Jon Bernthal might not be filming for very long, suggesting most of his scenes will be done by stunt doubles and that he’ll only be on set for a couple of weeks.
The extensive use of stunt doubles for the Punisher suggests he’ll be involved in some of the movie’s most physically demanding and risky fights. This is logical, as a rough, hand-to-hand battle with a powerful Hulk would need incredibly detailed and complex stunt work, more than most actors usually do. This fits with the realistic, gritty style the film is aiming for, and still delivers the big superhero action fans expect from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Okay, so details are scarce, but the buzz is that we’re going to see a seriously unexpected team-up in the next Spider-Man flick. Apparently, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will be forced to work with Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and their mission? To stop a completely out-of-control Hulk! Mark Ruffalo is definitely back as Bruce Banner, and word is, this version of the Hulk is really losing it, creating a massive problem for New York City. It’s going to be fascinating – and probably explosive – to see Spider-Man’s heroic code clash with the Punisher’s brutal methods when facing down one of the MCU’s biggest powerhouses.
New photos from the set, posted on Instagram by themarvelshow_, reveal a standoff between Punisher and Spider-Man. Punisher is shown aiming a gun at Spider-Man, who is taking cover on top of Frank Castle’s car. This suggests the two won’t immediately be friends and might even fight before eventually working together, similar to how their relationship plays out in the comics.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
