The Nintendo Switch version of Caves of Qud, a game developed by Freehold Games and Kitfox Games, will now be released in January 2026. It was initially planned to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, as announced during a Nintendo Indie World presentation.
This sci-fi fantasy game, which combines turn-based strategy, roguelike elements, and RPG features, was initially available on PC in early access. It officially launched in December 2024. Nintendo announced during their Indie World Showcase that the game would be launching as a “system exclusive” on the Switch. Hey friends!
Hey everyone, just wanted to give you a quick update on the Switch release. We’re pushing it back to January. The port isn’t quite where we want it yet, and honestly, after working on Qud for so long, we really want to get it right. We’d rather take a little extra time and release the best possible version of the game, even if it means waiting a bit longer. Thanks for understanding!
We’re confident on the Jan timeline, so we’ll see you on Switch soon
