Spider-Man 4’s Sadie Sink possibly debunks playing Jean Grey in MCU
Sadie Sink recently responded to rumors about her possibly playing Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said the speculation started before she even had discussions with Marvel. She was surprised when she first heard the rumors, and explained that talks with Marvel didn’t begin until she was already filming the fifth season of Stranger Things.
Sadie Sink is secretly filming a part in the new Spider-Man movie, currently titled Brand New Day, in London. Marvel Studios is keeping her character a secret, and they’ve been actively working to hide her costume from the public. Photos taken by paparazzi show her covered in a large, puffy jacket. As Sadie Sink explained to Entertainment Weekly, while her co-star Tom Holland is recognizable to fans, she’s been trying to avoid attention by bundling up so much she looks like a penguin.
Fans have been speculating about Sadie Sink’s role, suggesting she might play a character like Rachel Cole-Alves, an ally of the Punisher, or another red-haired Marvel character. Sink acknowledged the theories, playfully pointing out that hair color isn’t permanent. However, she’s now decided to avoid discussing fan speculation further, saying viewers will have to wait and see what happens and that she’s looking forward to the mystery being solved.
Sadie Sink, best known for playing Max on Stranger Things, is heading back to the theater! She’ll be starring as Juliet in a production of Romeo & Juliet in London’s West End. This comes after she received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in John Proctor Is the Villain, proving she’s building a diverse and successful acting career in movies, TV, and on stage.
