Ubisoft announced that the Assassin’s Creed franchise performed better than expected this past quarter. They also shared positive results for their recent releases, Mirage and Shadows.
Ubisoft recently announced that the Assassin’s Creed franchise had a very successful quarter, boosted by sales of the latest game, Shadows, and older titles. Players have spent over 211 million days playing Assassin’s Creed games so far this year, a 35% increase compared to the average over the last two years.
Ubisoft reported that recent additions to Shadows, like the New Game+ mode and the Claws of Awaji expansion, have helped the game gain popularity. They believe this momentum will allow Shadows to reach even more players when it’s released on the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2nd.
Ubisoft reported that older Assassin’s Creed games, in addition to the new release ‘Beyond Shadows,’ continued to sell well, demonstrating the franchise’s enduring popularity.
This month, Assassin’s Creed Mirage received a free update called Valley of Memory, which significantly boosted player engagement and helped the game surpass 10 million players.
Ubisoft has launched a new studio called Vantage Studios, which will be responsible for creating future installments of popular franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six. The studio is headed by Charlie Guillemot, son of Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot. Charlie acknowledges concerns about being hired due to his family connection but says he’s focused on the work itself.
