Bloodborne Fans Marking Their Calendars For December 11

Man, being a Bloodborne fan is rough. I say that as someone who’s completely obsessed with the game – and honestly, I don’t think anyone suffers more than we do waiting for news or a sequel. It’s a special kind of pain!

Even though Bloodborne came out in 2015 and is still considered one of the best video games ever made, Sony (PlayStation) seems to have largely forgotten about it, giving it very little support or attention.

PlayStation Really Doesn’t Care

But the fans will never give up

For a decade, fans have wished for more content from Bloodborne – things like sequels, versions for computers, or even just a smoother framerate on the PlayStation 5. None of those hopes have come true. Still, Bloodborne fans keep believing the next gaming announcement will finally deliver what they’re waiting for. It’s a similar situation with fans of Hollow Knight: Silksong, who have also been waiting a long time for news.

Recently, fans on the FromSoftware subreddit were debating whether they’d prefer a completely new game or a remake or remaster of an older title. I, for one, would love to have both – I’m always eager for more content!

The most popular comment simply says, “I just want confirmed news,” and that really captures how fans of the game Bloodborne are feeling right now.

This naturally sparked rumors that we might finally get some news at the next major gaming event. The Game Awards are on December 11th, and it’s known for big reveals – last year we saw announcements for The Witcher 4 and a new Okami game. Considering that, a remastered version of Bloodborne doesn’t seem like too much to ask for.

2025 Marks Bloodborne’s 10th Anniversary

End of the road?

With the 10th anniversary of Bloodborne coming up in 2025, The Game Awards seems like our last hope for an official announcement about a potential remaster or remake. If PlayStation doesn’t announce something for the anniversary, it’s likely we’ll never get one.

Dedicated Bloodborne fans will never abandon the game, and that’s fine. They’ll circle December 11th on their calendars, get ready for the usual disappointment, and I’ll be joining them. I’m already bracing myself for the announcement of yet another The Last of Us remaster.
