While Minka Kelly leads the cast of the new Netflix movie, Champagne Problems, a little white terrier named Maguy is stealing the show. The romantic comedy, directed by Mark Steven Johnson, tells the story of an American businesswoman who discovers her charming French fling is actually trying to buy her company after a magical night together.
A new Christmas movie arrived on the streaming service just as the holiday season began, launching on Wednesday, November 19 (you can find details on other upcoming Netflix releases for 2025 here). So far, it’s been a hit, currently ranking number one on Netflix’s worldwide Top 10 list.

Since the movie came out, everyone’s been talking about Bulles, the cute dog! He’s Sydney Price’s family pet and joins her on her adventure in Paris.
Get To Know Champagne Problems’ West Highland White Terrier
The adorable West Highland White Terrier named Maguy, who plays Little Bulles in the Netflix series Champagne Problems, is a professionally trained actor.

Nine-year-old Maguy (that’s about 52 in dog years!) is gaining recognition as an actress in France, where much of the film Champagne Problems was shot.

As a real cinema fan, I always find it fascinating to learn about the animals who become stars! Did you know the West Highland White Terrier has a pretty unique backstory? They were essentially ‘trained’ for stardom by a company in France called Equipe Pittavino Leloup, based in Écouis. It’s like a finishing school, not just for the dogs, but for their owners too, helping them both break into the world of entertainment. It’s amazing to think about the work that goes into getting these furry friends camera-ready!

This school trains dogs specifically for work in movies and television. Their talented canine actors have appeared in popular shows like Nice Girls, Lupin, and Fleabag on Netflix. Established in 1987, the team has a combined 500+ credits, making them a leading provider of well-trained dogs for film and TV productions throughout Europe.

As a huge movie fan, I was fascinated to learn about the animal actors used in films! I discovered that a White Terrier is currently working with the amazing team at Equipe Pittavino Leloup – they’re a really professional animal training company with nine trainers dedicated to getting these pups ready for their close-ups.

Maguy, born in July 2016, began his career in television and film because of his beautiful white fur and charming black eyes.

Maguy has a substantial body of work, and his newest project, Champagne Problems, adds to that list. He’s previously worked on films like Priceless, 4 Zeros, Alibi.com 2, Permission to Build, and the 2021 film adaptation of Astérix et Obelix, in which he played the character Dogmatix.

Maguy is poised to become a beloved movie dog, joining recent stars like Mia from ‘Too Much,’ and is already winning over audiences. Currently, there are no announced plans for future films featuring this charming canine.
