Warning: This article includes SPOILERS for Hazbin Hotel season 2!
Vivenne Medrano, the creator of Hazbin Hotel, recently shared a season 3 update that some fans might find discouraging, but it could actually be positive in the long run. Hazbin Hotel has become a beloved show, especially for people who feel like outsiders, love musical theater, or identify as LGBTQ+, providing them with a strong sense of community and entertainment.
Man, the second season of that animated show just wrapped up, and the finale was a real game-changer! Everyone’s already begging for season three, and honestly, I get it. So much happened! Lute is still on a warpath, which is kinda terrifying, but also awesome. And it’s cool seeing that both Heaven and Hell are starting to realize people can actually turn things around in that world. It really opens things up for where the story could go next!
Additionally, the shocking ending of Angel’s story in season 2 deserves a closer look. The season concludes with Charlie receiving her first call from her mother, Lilith, in seven years. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait some time for the premiere of Hazbin Hotel season 3 on Prime Video.
Hazbin Hotel Season 3’s Wait Will Be The Same As Season 2
Fans had to wait a year and eight months between the end of Hazbin Hotel season one and the start of season two, which caused some frustration. Long delays are increasingly common on streaming services, and while it’s understandable – animation simply takes much longer to produce than live-action television – it can still be annoying for viewers.
Vivienne Medrano recently shared an update about the release of Hazbin Hotel season 3, and unfortunately, it wasn’t what fans were hoping for. She indicated the wait for season 3 will likely be similar to the previous one, but season 4 is already approved and shouldn’t take as long to arrive.
According to current projections, the third season of Hazbin Hotel is expected to premiere in the summer of 2027. While this delay might be disappointing, it should ultimately result in a higher quality show.
Hazbin Hotel Season 2’s Wait Was Worth It Because Of The Quality
Though it took a while to arrive, season 2 of Hazbin Hotel was worth the wait. The new season features a more focused story, with only one episode that feels unnecessary. The characters are explored in greater depth, revealing fascinating new details about their pasts. And the songs in season 2 are a significant improvement, with stronger music and lyrics that really showcase the actors’ voices.
The story was much tighter this season, with fewer confusing plot points. The villain was compelling, although the soundtrack for Hazbin Hotel featured too many songs by Vox. The characters were also more complex and realistic. It’s likely the quality of the storytelling benefited from the team taking their time with season 2 of Hazbin Hotel, rather than rushing its release.
Hazbin Hotel Season 3’s Wait Will Ensure The Storytelling & Animation Stay Great
Although fans have waited a long time for seasons 2 and 3 of Hazbin Hotel, the delay is actually beneficial. It gives the creators time to develop the strongest possible story, allows the voice actors to deliver their best work, and prevents the animators from having to rush production or compromise on quality.
Although almost two years is a long wait, it will be worth it as long as the creators continue to do a good job with the story and characters of Hazbin Hotel. In the meantime, fans have Helluva Boss season 3 to look forward to, which is currently expected to come out in 2026.
