Multiple abandoned dog reports in England turns out to be roadside reindeer toy

English police received multiple reports of a stray dog, but when they went to investigate, they found it wasn’t a dog—it was a reindeer toy someone had left by the side of the road.

On November 18th, police responded to several calls about a small dog, described as a bully breed, that had been tied up near the top of Slack Hill on Chesterfield Road.

People in the area noticed the animal had been by itself all day, and they worried it had been left behind.

Officers found a reindeer toy instead of a dog

When officers arrived at the scene, they didn’t find a dog, but a toy reindeer resembling Sven from the movie Frozen. The Matlock, Cromford, Wirksworth, and Darley Dale Police posted on Facebook that the toy appeared to be resting after “a test flight over the Peak District.”

The post brought responses from people in the area who had seen the toy before. One person initially mistook it for a statue because it wasn’t moving. Another slowed their car, thinking it was a real animal, before realizing it wasn’t.

People were surprised the toy was even there, mentioning they’d walked by the spot many times without seeing it. Police haven’t explained how the reindeer ended up on the side of the road, but they have confirmed that no dog was left behind.

Okay, so this is a funny one I heard about. Apparently, back in September, the police in Maine got a call about someone screaming, and they rushed out there thinking someone was in real trouble. Turns out, it wasn’t a person at all – it was just a goat! Seriously, a goat was making all the noise in a field. Talk about a false alarm!
