Metroid Prime 4 Game And Samus Amiibo Preorders Available Now

Enthusiasts of Metroid have been eagerly awaiting the fourth installment in the Metroid Prime series for quite some time now, and the end of this more than 18-year wait has finally been set. During the packed Nintendo Direct event in September, it was announced that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will launch on December 4, available for both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles. Preorders for both versions of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are starting to appear at major retailers. Additionally, Nintendo is planning to release three new Amiibo figures: A brand new Samus Amiibo, as well as a Samus figure riding her Vi-O-La motorcycle, will be available from November 6, and a Sylux Amiibo will hit the market on the same day that the game is released.

Explore the essential Metroid Prime 4 preorder information provided below. We’ve also shared a sneak peek at an upcoming Metroid Prime Trilogy commemorative book, as well as two newly launched official Metroid gaming accessories, including a freshly released wireless controller designed for Nintendo Switch (version 1/2).

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Preorder Bonuses

Nintendo seldom provides pre-order incentives for its exclusives, yet it’s quite normal for retailers to offer exclusive incentives for Nintendo games. As of now, no retailer has announced any such incentives, but we’ll keep this information updated if anything changes. It took about a month for Walmart and Best Buy to unveil the exclusive bonuses for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Retailers often add these bonuses to your order if you pre-order before they’re announced.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been eagerly awaiting Metroid Prime 4: Beyond since it was unveiled at E3 2017, mere months following the launch of the Nintendo Switch. Interestingly, preorders for this long-awaited title were available concurrently with the console itself! However, it seems that our patience has been tested, as fans who had placed a preorder with Amazon nearly eight years ago found their orders abruptly canceled earlier this year.

Initially, Metroid Prime 4 was under development by Bandai Namco, but the project underwent a significant transformation in 2019 when Retro Studios took over. This Nintendo subsidiary is renowned for creating the previous three Prime games, and Kensuke Tanabe, the original producer of the series, is leading Beyond’s development. The glimpses of gameplay we’ve seen so far have been very promising indeed.

In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, we join Samus Aran following the events of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, but the exact timeframe is yet undisclosed. This new installment introduces us to a novel alien race residing on planet Viewros, who summon Samus for help against an unspecified threat. To assist her on this journey, these aliens grant Samus with extraordinary psychic abilities, enabling her to interact with mysterious relics and ruins on Viewros, as well as fend off the lethal creatures inhabiting the planet.

In an earlier gameplay trailer, it was revealed that Samus’ mysterious adversary, Sylux, will make an appearance and potentially play a significant part in the storyline. The gameplay snippets we’ve seen so far are quite encouraging, and fans won’t have to wait long before they can traverse the planet Viewros with Samus, using her renowned visor for exploration.

If you’re keen on experiencing the earlier Metroid Prime games before the upcoming Metroid Beyond, it’s unfortunate that the long-anticipated Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch didn’t come to fruition. However, you can still enjoy the stunning 2023 remaster of the original GameCube sensation – Metroid Prime Remastered, a fantastic updated version of the 2002 classic. This physical Nintendo Switch edition is available at Amazon for $40. Additionally, Samus’ thrilling 2021 side-scrolling adventure, Metroid Dread, is highly recommended as well.

  • Metroid Prime Remastered (Switch) — $39
  • Metroid Dread (Switch) — $55 ($60)
  • Metroid Dread (Import) — $47 ($60)
  • Metroid Dread Amiibo 2-Pack — $29
  • Metroid: Samus Returns (3DS) — $47

In August, PowerA unveiled a duo of Metroid Prime-themed gadgets. Following their quick sell-out, the new PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller and wired gaming earbuds are now available again on Amazon. Check out these two fashionable pieces of equipment below.
