81-year-old Minecraft grandma reveals grandson recovering from cancer was target of swatting

You probably heard about the amazing 81-year-old grandma who became a Minecraft streamer to help her grandson with his cancer bills. Well, she just shared that someone actually ‘swatted’ him earlier this month – meaning they falsely reported a serious emergency to the police, hoping to get him targeted. It’s awful, and thankfully he’s okay, but it’s just heartbreaking that someone would do that to him while he’s already dealing with so much.

Sue Jacquot, who goes by Gramma Crackers on YouTube, began streaming in 2024 after her grandson, Jack, received a cancer diagnosis.

Since then, she’s become very popular online, and Jack is now doing well after receiving treatment in Arizona. She continues to stream regularly.

On May 18th, popular streamer Gramma Crackers was the victim of a “swatting” incident – a dangerous prank where someone falsely reports a serious emergency to police to trigger a response at another person’s address. Twenty police cars and five SWAT team members arrived at her home, and while she handled the stressful situation remarkably well, she believes her grandson was actually the intended target.

In a conversation with Kick streamer JiDion, Jacquot shared that her grandson was the person officers were aiming their guns at during the incident.

Man, Jack really went through it. He was the last one out, and it was super stressful for him. You’ve gotta remember he’s still recovering from chemo, so his arms aren’t what they used to be. He told me he was walking forever with his arms stretched out because he was terrified they’d shoot him if he let them drop! It was honestly really scary to hear him talk about it.

Gramma Crackers told everyone she wasn’t afraid when the police arrived. She actually enjoyed the experience so much she even got to ride in a police car and called it “kind of fun.”

The 81-year-old described the swatting incident as unnecessary and explained that the police had contacted their home three times beforehand to warn them about the potential situation.

Police received a report that Jack had shot a woman and threatened suicide, so they needed to speak with him. He cooperated by getting everyone else out of the house.

I was shocked to hear that the person who swatted the streamer was even pretending to have a French accent! It’s just awful, and thankfully the detectives are now trying to figure out who did it.

Surprisingly, the story quickly spread online, leading to a surge of donations to Jack’s GoFundMe page, which has now surpassed $100,000.
