81-year-old Minecraft grandma gets swatted, but she calls it “fun”

Okay, so you won’t believe this, but the grandma who became famous for playing Minecraft to help her grandson with cancer? She got swatted – which is seriously scary – but her reaction was surprisingly positive. I mean, after everything she’s been through, she just took it in stride, which is pretty amazing, honestly.

The swatting occurred on the night of May 18 during a live stream on her Twitch channel.

It was insane – I was streaming when armed police just walked in, guns out, and started searching the place. Totally caught me off guard and it was terrifying to watch happen live.

Even though she was livestreaming around the clock, she didn’t stop. She came back on air the next day to update everyone, letting them know she was okay.

GrammaCrackers completely unfazed by swatting

Sue Jacquot, who goes by ‘GrammaCrackers,’ took the incident in stride. She explained that she was actually asleep when the police showed up at her home, and wasn’t bothered by it at all.

“She was the most beautiful police officer I’ve ever laid eyes on, with such kind eyes and a sweet personality,” the woman said, as her grandson chuckled. “But I bet she’s tough as nails when she needs to be.”

I was walked outside, and while I wasn’t sure what was happening, it was actually enjoyable. It was lovely to have my grandchild and child hugging me – I don’t usually get that much affection, and I was really soaking it in. It was a nice experience.

Before the situation was fully resolved, she even had a ride in a police car. Afterwards, her grandmother said she took an ibuprofen and went to bed.

“I met people I never would have met any other way,” she continued. “It was fun.”

Despite the arrival of twenty police cars, five SWAT team members, and drones surrounding her home, she surprisingly felt completely safe and secure.

They said the officers were careful around her streaming gear and made sure to stay out of the camera’s view while they searched.

Even though it was a scary experience, Jacquot dealt with everything beautifully and calmly, and people online found it hilarious.

“What I’m taking from this is that gramma fought off 5 swat agents,” one joked on YouTube.

“‘It was kinda fun,’ LOOL I love her,” another said.

We still don’t know who sent the false emergency report to GrammaCrackers’ address, but the incident has understandably upset her fans. They’re shocked that someone would target such a kind person with this dangerous prank.

Jacquot launched her YouTube channel in 2024 and quickly gained a large following. She now has over 613,000 subscribers on YouTube and 675 followers on Twitch, where she regularly streams Minecraft gameplay with interaction from her viewers.

Earlier this year, she gained attention for a successful GoFundMe campaign she started for her grandson, Jack Self, who was diagnosed with Sarcoma cancer. Thankfully, Jack is now in remission.
