As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the recent news about Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) getting a Fate collaboration before Honkai Star Rail (HSR) has sent shockwaves through the gaming community. I’ve been following both games since their inception, and I can tell you that this unexpected turn of events has left me utterly thrilled!
Being a fan of anime, particularly Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, I appreciate the intricate storylines, captivating characters, and adrenaline-pumping battles that the series offers. The idea of these iconic characters gracing the ZZZ universe is nothing short of mind-blowing!
What’s even more fascinating is witnessing the creativity of fellow gamers who take matters into their own hands, like the one who created a mod showcasing what a ZZZ x Fate collab would look like. I must admit, the idea of Harumasa being replaced by Archer and Nicole transformed into Rin Tohsaka is simply brilliant! The synergy between the two characters, especially during Chain Attacks, looks nothing short of spectacular.
However, as someone who has seen many collaborations come and go in the gaming world, I can’t help but wonder what HoYo has planned for the HSR x Fate collab. Will it be as impressive as this fan-made mod? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: my anticipation for this crossover event is at an all-time high!
And to lighten the mood, I’d like to add a little joke: I guess now I know who’ll be the one to finally unite the Seven Heroes of Humanity – Rin Tohsaka and her trusty Archer! They’re certainly going to make a formidable team in ZZZ!
Prior to Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero got a collaboration with Fate earlier due to an unauthorized modification, which introduced two of the series’ most renowned characters into the game.
On July 19, 2024, during the livestream of version 2.4, HoYoverse unveiled an exhilarating partnership between their free-to-play gacha game and Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, a renowned anime characterized by stunning animation and heart-pumping battles, making it an ideal fit for a crossover event.
Following the announcement, HoYo has been noticeably quiet, sparking curiosity among fans as to what the HSR x Fate collaboration might involve. To date, rumors suggest that this partnership could introduce a fresh planet, unique characters, stylish costumes, and Light Cones to the game.
One well-known source alleges they’ve discovered the collaborative characters, implying that Saber and Archer (Emiya) are rumored to join HSR’s lineup. Meanwhile, another enthusiast has crafted a mod demonstrating what a ZZZ x Fate collaboration might appear as.
On Bilibili, a user shared a video featuring themselves portraying two renowned characters from the Fate series. Notably, Harumasa’s character was swapped with the Archer, a fitting decision given that the Archer is well-known for their mastery of the bow.

Harumasa is also recognized for charging in to deliver swift melee attacks with his lethal twin blades, a trait he has in common with Archer. Emiya frequently makes use of his Kanshou and Bakuya during close combat encounters, swiftly cutting and dismembering his opponents.
Currently, Nicole’s character has been changed to Rin Tohsaka, a potent mage and heir of the Tohsaka lineage. Since Rin is also Archer’s master, it’s not surprising that they work well together. The Chain Attacks are especially impressive, as Rin’s energy field draws enemies closer, allowing Archer to deliver the final blow to the boss.
