Final Fantasy 14’s next expansion ushers in an ice age and adds in an Evangelion crossover for good measure

Alongside many other updates, a new Alliance Raid was announced for update 8.0, and it’s a really exciting collaboration with the classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Called “Ghosts of Desire,” the raid will feature Eva Unit-01 and music from the show, based on a recent trailer. While details are scarce, I’m confident we’ll see outfits inspired by the characters Rei and Asuka.

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of a new series of alliance raids based on Neon Genesis Evangelion. These raids will be available with the Evercold content update, which isn’t expected until January 2027 at the earliest. What makes this collaboration so remarkable is its size and the fact that Square Enix doesn’t own the Evangelion intellectual property. This also creates a slightly awkward situation for content creators and streamers.

Hatsune Miku is known for her surprising collaborations. The virtual singer has partnered with a wide range of companies, including traditional Japanese knife artisans, spicy hot sauce brands, and even inspired the creation of a custom gaming computer.

Wuthering Waves teases collab with Resident Evil and Angry Birds – plus limited-time codes up for grabs

The April 30th update, called “Reverbs From the End of Galaxies”, will add both zombies and angry birds to the game, finishing the month with exciting new content.
