ChilledChaos has announced he’s taking a break from creating videos and other online content after almost 20 years of doing so.
Anthony DiMarco, known as the creator, announced his departure in a YouTube video called “Thanks for Watching, Internet!” He used the video to look back on his work and explain his decision to stop creating content.
ChilledChaos calls time on YouTube after nearly 20 years
ChilledChaos started creating videos in 2006, originally sharing personal videos with his friends. He then shifted to gameplay content, which helped him grow the popular channel his fans enjoy now.
Now 34, he said the decision comes from wanting to explore life beyond his online persona.
He explained that he feels it’s time to step away from his ‘Chilled Chaos’ persona and explore new creative avenues. He wants to see how his career progresses without it and discover what other skills and interests he wants to pursue.
He’s been creating content for a long time, and it’s always been important to him, but he now wants to prioritize his own personal development instead of focusing on things like how many views or followers he gets.
“I want to measure that in like physical growth, in mental growth, in me as a person,” he said.
ChilledChaos announced he’ll be ending his regular streaming with a final event from May 29th to May 31st.
He’s taking a break from making new videos, but plans to launch a channel that will play his work around the clock – a mix of both classic and recent content for fans to enjoy.
He clarified that the decision wasn’t made based on what others thought, and expressed gratitude to his supporters for their loyalty over the years.
He reassured me it wasn’t my fault, and expressed how grateful he was for the incredible support of our community.
ChilledChaos explained he wanted to be upfront about his future plans, instead of simply disappearing. He felt it was important because his viewers had spent a lot of time watching his content.
The Game Historian, a well-known YouTuber, announced in April that they would be leaving the platform after 15 years of creating content.
