One Piece remake gets February 2027 Netflix release & episode count details

Netflix has announced that the live-action One Piece series will premiere in February 2027, with all episodes available to stream at the same time.

The first season will have seven episodes, adding up to about five hours of content. This means each episode will be longer than those in the original anime.

Wit Studio is creating a new version of the series, beginning with the East Blue saga and following Monkey D. Luffy’s quest to become King of the Pirates. The first season will cover the first 50 chapters of the original manga, ending with Luffy meeting Sanji at the Baratie restaurant.

The first previews of the remake show glimpses of Luffy’s early life in Windmill Village, including scenes at Partys Bar with Shanks and his crew. This gives fans a sneak peek at how these important story moments will be updated.

The One Piece finally gets release date & episode count

This new version is a joint effort between Shueisha, Fuji Television, and Toei Animation – the studios that created the original anime. Masashi Koizuka, who directed Attack on Titan, is leading the project, and Kyoji Asano, known for his work on Spy x Family, is designing the characters.

Although Netflix hasn’t released any complete trailers yet, the animation studio Wit Studio reports that they’re feeling very optimistic about the project.

The story of One Piece starts in the East Blue. Produced by WIT STUDIO, the series will premiere on Netflix in February 2027 with all 7 episodes available at once.
