As we’ve reported in the past, power creep is a real issue in gacha games like Honkai: Star Rail.
In essence, developers are enhancing new characters with greater power compared to their previous versions as a tactic to encourage ongoing spending. However, this results in the gradual obsolescence of earlier units.
In an innovative approach, Zenless Zone Zero amplified Ellen’s abilities, and similarly, Honkai: Star Rail plans to enhance the powers of Silver Wolf, Kafka, and Blade.
Just like with ZZZ, you’ll have the option to turn the enhancements on or off. However, it’s uncertain as to why one would intentionally weaken their game characters.
For Silver Wolf, enhancements have been made so that her Ultimate now targets multiple enemies instead of just one. Additionally, she focuses on weakening the initial character in your team, applying this weakness to opponents. Lastly, she restores energy at the beginning of each turn.
These minor adjustments are expected to significantly boost the rankings of these characters, and we’re hopeful that Kafka and Blade will see similar enhancements as well. Being avid admirers of the first one, we eagerly anticipate what lies ahead.
Star Rail.
