In the game Wuthering Waves, teams share a unique bond due to their Introductory and Concluding abilities. Moreover, characters often strengthen one another or weaken adversaries, thereby amplifying the effectiveness of the team’s primary Damage Per Second (DPS) member when they enter the battlefield.
Zani serves as our primary Damage Per Second (DPS) character, relying significantly on her teammates to prepare the battlefield using Spectro Frazzle and other supportive abilities. Once the stage is set for her entry, Zani will step up to the plate and shine as an elite DPS in Wuthering Waves, ensuring she does not disappoint her team.
2. Zani + Phoebe + Verina
As a fan, I’ve found that when it comes to my favorite duo, Phoebe and Zani, they work best together by sharing the field time in our team setup. This allows us to maximize Spectro damage. To make this team effective, Phoebe needs to frequently activate her Confession mode and Outro Skill. These abilities lower enemies’ Spectro resistance and increase the Spectro Frazzle DMG, significantly boosting Zani’s overall damage output and helping her fill up her Blaze bar more quickly. While Phoebe won’t be on the field as much as Zani in this setup, the goal is to push Zani’s damage to new heights, a strategy that the numbers back up.
Shorekeeper continues to be one of the top Support characters in “Wuthering Waves,” earning a spot in Zani’s elite squad. Her role is crucial in maintaining the team’s longevity by boosting both Zani and Phoebe’s damage output. Switching Verina with Shorekeeper slightly extends the time it takes for skills to activate during combat, but this trade-off increases the overall team buff at the expense of some of Zani’s action timing. With this adjusted Zani team, her damage output nearly doubles compared to other characters.

1. Zani + Mortefi + Spectro Rover
If you’re hesitant about combining Zani with Phoebe due to cost concerns, consider building a Free-to-Play (F2P) team for Zani in Wuthering Waves instead. Mortefi serves as an effective Sub-DPS, significantly boosting Zani’s Heavy Attack damage, which is what she scales on. Moreover, Mortefi requires minimal playtime to prepare his Resonance Liberation, a skill that will subsequently unleash a barrage of off-field Fusion damage against enemies while Zani functions as the main DPS for the team.
In the game Wuthering Waves, players have the option to incorporate a specialized healer such as Shorekeeper, but Spectro Rover with Rejuvenating Glow also does the job quite well and even enhances Zani’s performance by using Spectro Frazzle. Although this team is not as effective as Zani’s top-tier team, it still performs adequately within Wuthering Waves, offering a free-to-play option for players.
