As a seasoned crypto investor with a keen interest in emerging blockchain projects, I’m particularly intrigued by the latest developments surrounding World Chain and the team behind it. With their announcement that the network is now open for select developers to build, test, and provide feedback, I believe this could be an exciting opportunity.
The company responsible for the Worldcoin protocol announced on Tuesday that its upcoming layer-2 solution, named World Chain, is now accessible for developers to work with.
In the press release provided to CoinDesk, it’s stated that certain developers are allowed to apply for the opportunity to construct, experiment with, and provide comments on Tools For Humanity’s projects, which includes Worldcoin.
In an interview with CoinDesk, Remco Bloomen, the head of blockchain at the Worldcoin Foundation, expressed his belief that the team behind Worldcoin is innovative and experienced, having worked on this project for some time.
As a researcher following the developments in the cryptocurrency world, I can share that according to previous reports from CoinDesk, the World Chain project is anticipated to be accessible to users towards the end of this summer. However, Bloemen, who is involved with the project, has declined to provide an exact date for when the mainnet will be launched. Additionally, there are currently no plans in place to make a testnet available for users.
“I believe we’re heading towards the mainnet stage eventually. However, this current phase offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to fine-tune their infrastructure and prepare themselves for the transition when it becomes mainnet.”
Furthermore, the World Chain initiative intends to run Reth, a novel Ethereum client program produced by Paradigm, in stealth operation. Tools for Humanity is prepared to allocate engineering personnel to ensure Reth is ready for the main network.
Paradigm has introduced a new client named Reth for the Ethereum network, known for being easy-to-use, modular, swift, and efficient. As stated on Paradigm’s website, this client is designed with a wide user base in mind, including layer-2 networks such as Optimism.
