When Wuthering Waves adds a new area to explore, it typically includes optional quests alongside the main storyline, where you unlock new characters. These side quests vary in length, from extensive Exploration quests to quick, smaller tasks marked with a blue icon.
The Hidden Childhood is a quest you’ll receive by talking to a group of children. It involves finding three kids who are hidden in different spots within a circular area – it can be tricky, so you’ll need to be creative to succeed.
How To Get The Hidden Childhood Quest

To begin the Hidden Childhood quest in Wuthering Waves, you need to travel to the Lahai-Roi region, which is the third area you’ll unlock in the game. You can get there by starting the first part of chapter three. You’ll reach the region shortly after starting the chapter, but you can’t fully continue the quest until you get to the Startorch Academy.
Once you arrive, you’re free to explore the map. Head to the Resonance Nexus in the bottom right corner of the academy to activate it, which will reveal the Spacetrek Observatory. Look directly above the observatory on the map—you’ll see a chest icon indicating a group of chests nearby.
You may need to complete a few Exploration quests in the area before this Hidden Childhood quest becomes available.
When you approach the chest icon, a blue icon for the Hidden Childhood quest will appear. To begin the quest, simply talk to the group of children located at the marked spot.
Where To Find All The Children
Once you’ve finished talking through the quest, the three children will each go into hiding. You can find them by following the instructions below:
- If you zoom in on the map of the area, you’ll see a vertical building’s icon in gray color below the chest icon here. The first kid can be found on the balcony of this building.
- For the second kid, move closer to the river on the right side of this vertical building and you’ll see a rhino enemy with a couple of NPCs pointing at it. When you get close, you’ll be able to reveal them.
- Move up north from the second location and the third kid can easily be spotted beside some rocks with purple-colored markings on them.
After you’ve located all the children, you can complete the conversation to receive your quest rewards, such as Shell Credits and items to upgrade your gear.
