Phainon release date in Honkai Star Rail

On July 2, 2025, trailblazers will have the chance to play with the new character, Phainon, in Honkai Star Rail. The limited character banner for him will be available once the Version 3.4 update is activated on their respective servers.

Fans who have followed the franchise for a while couldn’t help but notice a striking similarity between Amphoreus and Honkai Impact 3rd’s character Kevin Kaslana upon their release. However, Phainon’s splash art serves to strengthen this resemblance even further.

Despite sharing identical wings, Phainon appears to be accompanied by a luminescent counterpart sporting the same wings as well. Upon closer inspection, it seems that Phainon is positioned opposite a radiant duplicate. The article also addresses him as “The Nameless Hero,” with five blank sections following, which can be interpreted as “Kevin” when read in succession, although it could merely be a nod to a familiar character.

Upon closer inspection of the artwork, the symbols in the upper right corner seem to convey a message. It translates to “Did you see? Amphoreus has heralded the dawn.” Given that Amphoreus’ tale is set to continue in future instalments, could Era Nova’s arrival be imminent in this upcoming chapter?

It’s worth mentioning that Phainon’s launch corresponds with Honkai Star Rail’s collaboration with Fate/stay night. Yet, Saber and Archer will each have their unique “Special Collaboration Banner,” which won’t share a pity count with Phainon’s and other limited-time characters’ banners.
