Season 3 of Euphoria has returned, and here’s how and when you can catch the second episode.

The new season of Euphoria started with a dramatic first episode centered on Rue. It showed her smuggling drugs across the border for Laurie and seemingly having a spiritual awakening.

The episode included several tributes to members of the Euphoria cast and crew who passed away between seasons one and two, notably including Angus Cloud. Despite his death, his character, Fez, remained a part of the show’s storyline.

What happened in Episode 1

In the first episode of Season 3, Rue had a spiritual experience and unexpectedly started carrying drugs for someone else. Meanwhile, Maddy and Lexi both took jobs working in the Hollywood film industry, and Cassie and Nate were planning their wedding while also disagreeing about finances.

The episode started with a jump forward in time by five years. We hear Rue explaining in a voiceover that she hasn’t been doing well since high school, saying, “Honestly? Nothing good.”

Then things got really wild – I watched her smuggle drugs over the border wall, and then she ended up at this religious homestead where she suddenly started talking about God. It was a total 180!

The show then explains how she started working for Laurie, revealing she’d accumulated a large debt in the years since. What follows are disturbing scenes of her and Faye smuggling drugs: they swallow condoms filled with fentanyl in Mexico, intending to bring them back to the US.

This episode also shows what other characters are up to, like Lexi, who’s now writing for a nighttime soap opera, and Maddy, who works at an agency representing actors.

We’ve learned that Jules is an art student who’s also working as a ‘Sugar Baby,’ and Fez is facing a long prison sentence – likely around 30 years.

Cassie is hoping to gain popularity on TikTok and is also thinking about using OnlyFans to help fund her wedding to Nate. Nate’s construction company is currently facing financial difficulties.

The story ends with Rue making a drug delivery to a dangerous man named Alamo Brown. When one of his dancers dies after using the drugs, Brown becomes violent.

As a reaction, someone places an apple on her head, and Alamo attempts to shoot it with a bow and arrow. He hits the apple, saving her life, but she becomes extremely upset as the scene closes.
