The popular show Wednesday is heading to Paris! It’s been announced that the main character will be featured in a new story set in the city.
Netflix shared a new image featuring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, sporting her signature black coat and standing beside a Triumph motorcycle. Her loyal companion, Thing, is also in the picture. The Eiffel Tower looms in the background, hinting at a new setting. Netflix teased the location with the caption, “From Paris, with dread.”
Wednesday Is Heading to Paris
Following the huge popularity of Wednesday, the show is expanding filming to more countries. Netflix recently shared a photo hinting at this, just after What’s on Netflix reported that the main cast was filming in Paris. According to reports from France, the Paris shoot for Season 3 began around April 20th and was relatively short.
Photos revealed Jenna Ortega and Fred Armisen, who plays Uncle Fester, bringing their quirky dynamic to Paris. Tim Burton, the director and executive producer of the show, joined them to film new scenes, including an action-packed sequence near the Seine River.
A clapperboard revealed Tim Burton was directing the scene, and he was collaborating with cinematographer PJ Dillon on what appeared to be scene V103, probably for the third episode.
What to Know About Wednesday Season 3
Filming for Season 3 of Wednesday began on February 23rd, just weeks after Season 2 concluded. This quick turnaround aims to prevent a long wait between seasons. Jenna Ortega is confirmed to return for the new season, along with other familiar faces.
The cast also featured returning actors like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Eva Green, Billie Piper, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Evie Templeton, Joanna Lumley, Joonas Suotamo, Liv Spencer, and several others.
Season 3 boasts a fantastic cast, and the announcements began with the return of a key character from Season 2—someone who was hinted at in the finale’s closing moments.
Jenna Ortega isn’t the only new addition to the cast. Director Tim Burton previously collaborated with Winona Ryder on several films, including the 1988 classic Beetlejuice and its 2024 sequel, as well as Edward Scissorhands (1990) and Frankenweenie (2012). Now, Ryder is joining the cast of Wednesday. Other new cast members include Chris Sarandon (Dog Day Afternoon, The Princess Bride), Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones), Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Gotham Knights), and Kennedy Moyer (Task, Roofman).
The cast recently gained some exciting new members, including James Lance, well-known for his role in Ted Lasso, and Andrew McCarthy, famous from St. Elmo’s Fire.
Wednesday Season 3 doesn’t have a release date, but it’s likely to premiere on Netflix in 2027.
